Im neunten Saisonlauf auf der digitalen Version der legendären Nürburgring-Nordschleife feierte das Team BMW Bank im virtuellen BMW Z4 GT3 beim MANN-FILTER 3h-Rennen den Titelgewinn. Auch in den Kategorien CUP2 und SP3T fielen die Titelentscheidungen erst im letzten Saisonrennen.

Erhan Jajovski dominates second round of the rFactor 2 GT Pro Series powered by VCO

Munich – Erhan Jajovski proved unbeatable in the second of six race events in the rFactor 2 GT Pro Series powered by VCO at the virtual ‘Portland International Raceway’. The defending champion first secured pole position and then claimed a commanding victory in the sprint race. In the main race, he worked his way up gradually from tenth on the grid, moving into first place in a dramatic finish after a driving error from the previous leader, his R8G Esports team-mate Yuri Kasdorp, around two minutes from the end.

MSI eSports from Spain wins 24H SERIES ESPORTS powered by VCO season-opener at Imola

Munich – On Sunday, the 24H SERIES ESPORTS powered by VCO lived up to its reputation as one of the best endurance championships on the iRacing race simulation. At the maiden appearance for Virtual Competition Organisation (VCO) as series partner, victory in the Imola season-opener went to Spanish team MSI eSports. After six hours, Alejandro Sánchez and Marc Perez in their Audi R8 LMS were nearly one and a half minutes ahead of their closest challenger from Williams Esports with drivers Martin Christensen, Arthur Lehouck and Dominik Staib. Dino Lombardi, Alessandro Bico und Matteo Ugolotti from the Leo Racing Team claimed third place. The results were even closer in the other classes.

VCO becomes new title partner of the ‘rFactor 2 GT Pro Series powered by VCO’

Munich – The Virtual Competition Organization (VCO) will work together with Studio 397 and the sim racing platform rFactor 2, becoming the new title partner of the ‘rFactor 2 GT Pro Series powered by VCO’. Six racing events in this popular Esports racing series are on the programme between mid-October and the end of December 2020. The related GT Challenge Series will also be “powered by VCO” for Season 2.

Cooperation between VCO and Creventic: 24H SERIES ESPORTS powered by VCO begins in October

Munich – Virtual Competition Organisation (VCO) will cooperate with Dutch race organiser Creventic BV in the future. Together, the two partners will present the 24H SERIES ESPORTS powered by VCO. Between October 2020 and April 2021, six race events are scheduled in the series, which made its debut this year and arose from the renowned NEO Endurance Series.

The maiden season of this innovative championship on the iRacing platform will be held between November 2020 and February 2021. Well-known professionals from real motorsport – including Formula E champion António Félix da Costa, Rubens Barrichello and Timo Glock – will each form a team with one rapid Esports racer. Together, they will compete for a total prize purse of 50,000 US dollars over the course of eight events.

TEAM GERMANY WINS INAUGURAL VCO CUP OF NATIONS

Munich – The winners of the ‘VCO Cup of Nations for UNICEF, presented by Acronis’ come from Germany. In a finale that provided excitement up to the final lap, Maximilian Benecke, Jonas Wallmeier, Alexander Thiebe and Patrik Holzmann prevailed against teams from France and Italy. The quartet completed four final races with 498 points, just six ahead of the French team. Benecke, Wallmeier, Thiebe and Holzmann receive £4,000 in prize money. The French team in second place split £2,000, while the Italians in third place will take home £1,000. Donations for UNICEF were also collected over the course of the two tournament days.
