Munich – The first #VCOJimmerChallenge powered by FANATEC organised by Virtual Competition Organisation (VCO) and YouTuber Jimmy Broadbent has a winner. Maksim Bunevich not only defeated ‘Jimmer’ on the platform iRacing, with a lap time of 1:00.719 minutes in the iRacing entry-level car Mazda MX-5 at the track in Lime Rock Park, he was also the fastest of almost 900 competitors. His reward is a top-notch sim racing set from FANATEC.

Last Friday, the Esports racing community had 24 hours to try and beat Broadbent’s previous lap record of 1:01.945 minutes on iRacing. During this period, Bunevich completed a total of 253 laps in the Mazda MX-5 to set the ultimate top time.

“Congratulations to Max Bunevich on winning the challenge! I expected my time to be beaten, but not by 1.2 seconds! That was really impressive,” said ‘Jimmer’. “Max, I hope you have a lot of fun with your new FANATEC equipment and I look forward to the next time you beat me on the virtual racetrack.”

Winner Bunevich says: “I’m really happy that I won the challenge against ‘Jimmer’ and all the other competitors. I regularly watch Jimmy Broadbent’s videos and am grateful that I was able to prove myself in this challenge. I didn’t think I was going to manage it at the beginning. It was only after 100 laps that I had the pace required, then I needed another 100 laps or so to further improve my time. The track really is something special. Now I’m really looking forward to trying out the FANATEC set and seeing how it feels compared with my current rig.”

Special thanks go to FANATEC. Without their support it wouldn’t have been possible for the winner of the #VCOJimmerChallenge to receive such a fantastic prize. For the detailed specifications of the winner’s set, see here.
